Pikey Trek is comfortable trekking route in Solu village with Pikey Peak 4,068 m is one of the tallest hills of Solu (lowland of Everest Region). The name Pikey is derived  from the two titles of the Sherpas.Pikey trek is well known for sunrise, Himalayan range, culture and even Botanical trek This is a trail through Jiri - Chaulakharka - Ngaur - to reach the Pikey Danda (Hill) area. Another trail leads from Pikey Danda to Phaplu through PanchPokari and Tamakhani which is located north east from the district center Salleri.

Pikey Trek is most popular for its sunrise and sunset views and Himalayan range of Mt. Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjungha, Annapurna, Gauri Shankar, Lhotse, Lhotse Shar, Nuptse, Amadablam, Numbur, Khatang, Karyalung, Shishapangma, Mera Peak and Thamserku. Pike Trek Base Camp trekking is one of the popular trekking trails in Everest region, probably one of the lower places to see the Mt.Everest 8848m. Pike trekking is popular for the wonderful Himalayan scenery including the mountains range as well as Rhododendron flower, Magnolia, wild orchid.  And during the festival season in August performs cleansing ritual at its sacred lakes with this festival thousands of devotees walks to the lake for the festival, from the village of all around Solukhumbu.

Pikey Trek route is almost a 12 - 13 days trek. We can start from Jiri or we take  flight straight to Phaplu 35 min. enjoy a visit to local monasteries such as Chewang monastery, experience the Tamang, Magar and Sherpa lifestyle and their cultures, dramatic scenery of mountains and landscapes, maniwalls and Buddhist stupa , high altitude vegetation,Himalaya floras and faunas, centuries old monasteries, mani stones. While trekking up to Pikey peak you can see sunrise view and mountain peaks from Kanchenjunga to Dhaulagiri including Everest. After you cross Pikey peak you walk down through unique landscape to Junbesi valley. The following day you trek to Thuptenchholing Monastery ( Little Tibet) where you can observe traditional Tibetan medicinal therapy. You can taste local food and drink here and enjoy Sherpa cultural show performed on request. Then you again trek back to Junbesi and return Phaplu from where you can catch a flight straight to Kathmandu

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 01 : Arrival at Kathmandu 1,310m Welcome by Amis Himalayan Adventure Trekking member and direct transfer to hotel in Kathmandu with Bed & breakfast plan.

Day 03 : Drive 9hrs from Kathmandu to Jiri, 1800m First we head East on the Araniko Highway through Bhaktapur, Banepa, Dhulikhel, Dolalghat, Lamasanghu, and turning right at Lamasangu on the Jiri road. You will enjoy the green hills with the backdrop of snowcapped

Day 04 : Trek 4hrs to Shivalaya, 1770m The trail winds down through beautiful forests and a number of hamlets till we reach Shivalaya, a small village inhabited by Tamangs and Newars. It lies on the bank of the Shivalaya River. Overnight at camp.

Day 07 : Trek 3hrs to Golla, 2980m It is a hard climb but leads us through a forest of pines and rhododendrons to Golla, a typical Sherpa village. The villagers are mainly farmers and almost every household has some cows, and dzom (a cross between a yak and cow).
