Makalu Base Camp Trekking is one of the attractive and diversified Bio-diversity among all the preserved areas in Nepal. This botanical trek covers plants and animals, which has been the attraction to all the visitors. Rare animals like Red Panda, snow leopard, Himalayan black beer and gray leopard are major appeal of the place. One of the main attractions is the unbeatable display of rhododendrons on the way to Makalu. Everywhere in the region we can come across wonderful examples of Himalayan orchids and other wild flowers including many valuable medicinal plants. Similarly animals can be elusive throughout the area but birds life is prolific while deer and wild sheep often spotted.

Makalu Botanical Trek is situated in Makalu Barun National Park and Conservation Area, which lies in the Solukhumbhu and Sankhuwasabha district, established in 1992 and formally inaugurated in 1992. Mount Makalu 8463m, the worlds fifth highest peak, ChamlangHimal and Barun Valley are the major attractions of this area.Having a massive range of latitudinal and climatic variations, the Makalu Barun area provides a remarkable and diverse habitat for a rich variety of flora and fauna. Plants of all major ecological zones tropical, sub-tropical, temperate, alpine and sub-alpine are found here. The park is the home to a rich variety of wildlife also. The highlights of this rich natural paradise include beautiful mountains, pristine forest, and a wide variety of plants, animal life and the simple and warm heated local people with rich and varied customs cultures.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 01 : Arrive at Kathmandu Airport 1,310m Welcoming by Amis Himalaya Adventure Treks Member and direct transfer to hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02 : Sightseeing in Kathmandu valley.

Day 03 : Fly to Tumlingtar and trek to Khandbari. Altitude1020m 3/4hrs walk.

Day 04 : Trek to Chichila. Altitudes 1,840m 4 hrs walk.

Day 05 : Trek to Num. Altitude 1,490m 5-hrs walk.

Day 06 : Trek to Sedua.Altitude 1,540m 5-hrs walk.

Day 07 : Trek to TashiGaon.Altitude 2,020m 5hrs walk.

Day 08 : Trek to KahumaDanda.Altitude 3,560m 5-hrs walk.

Day 09 : Trek to Mumbuk.Altitude 3,550m 6.30-hrs walk.

Day 10 : Trek to NeheKharka.Altitude 3,600m 5-hrs walk.

Day 11 : Trek to Sherson.Altitude 4,810 5hrs walk.

Day 12 : Rest day, Explore around Makalu Base Camp or hike to Baruntse Base Camp.

Day 13 : Trek to YangleKharka. Altitude3, 600m 5-hrs walk.

Day 14 : Trek to Dobato.Altitude 3,550m 4-hrs walk.

Day 15 : Trek to TashiGaon.Altitude 2,070m 4-hrs walk

Day 16 : Trek to Num. altitude 1,500m/5-hrs walk.

Day 17 : Trek to Mani Bhanjyang.Altitude 1,100m 5-hrs walk.

Day 18 : Trek to Tumlingtar. Altitude 4,60m 4 hours walks.

Day 19 : Fly back to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.

Day 20 : Free day in Kathmandu, Evening will take dinner together with Typical Nepali culture.

Day 21 : Departure from Kathmandu to your onward destination.
